The White Rider

The Divine Twins appear around Dawn-Time; the first partakes of the darkness, thus riding a Black Horse, whilst the second partakes of the balance of light and darkness, but with the light triumphant, thus riding a White Horse

The Divine Twins are both 'twins' and 'father & son'; just as Hengest & Horsa were brothers and Cerdic & Cynric were father and son - the archetypes always underlie historical events.

In the first figure (Franz von Schuck 1889) the Wild Huntsman rides a black horse and sports a moustache. In the second figure (Franz von Schuck 1899) the Wild Huntsman rides a white horse and sports a full beard. The figure wears the scarlet-red of the war-god.

The herald of the New Dawn is the Dawn-Star or Morning-Star - Venus, symbol of the Waene/Vanir-Gods, related to the Goddess Freya -

'And there appeared a great wonder in heaven: a woman clothed with the Sun, and the Moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of Twelve Stars....
And she brought forth a man-child which was to rule the nations with a rod of iron....'

Revelation 12:1 & 5.

  • At the top is the 'Birth-Rune' (Peorth) from which is arising the Spirit 88 made up of twin Wyn-Rune (also making the Man-Rune or Rune of Manu). The four 'notches' represent the manifestation of Spirit (3) into Matter (4).
  • In the centre is the Ur-glyphic Irminsul, the World-Tree, the Cosmic Centre from which the Last Avatar arises (see Wulf's Prophecy). This is the 'Womb of Generation', the 'Womb of the Mother'.
  • At the bottom, as I have pointed out before is the Ing-Rune in which the Spirit 88 dwells; this can be England (Ing-Land) but it can also be the planet Venus - the Morning Star.
'When the Ice of the Darkest of Night melts away under the Fire of the Black Sun of the Inner Earth, the poisoned apple shall fall away, and the Sleeping-Goddess shall awaken, throw off her White Wolf Skin and arise renewed by the Golden Apples of the Immortals. When the Moon is under her feet and she is clothed in the Golden Sun, she shall bring forth the Divine Child of Light who will lead the English Folk in their divine mission against the Servants of Darkness.'

'The Prophecy 88'.

We can definitely associate Freya with Venus, but since the 'Crown of Twelve Stars' (The Corona) may represent the Twelve Golden Apples of Idunn, and like Venus, Idunn is the Goddess of Regeneration, it is Idunn that is used here. Idunn, Freya and even Nanna are linked together in a subtle way.

The 'Sleeping Beauty' is none other than Snow White who represents the 'Soul of the Germanic Race'; this is the 'White Lady' of Germanic Legend, the Arkona as stated by Guido von List. List tells us that she 'haunts' the places of origin. The best interpretation of the story of 'Snow White' can be found in Wulf Sorenson's work on the 'Ancestors'. This is well known and I will not repeat it here. 'Snow White' has black hair, snow-white skin, and red lips - Black/White/Red, the colours of the Norns and of Germania (as well as Atlantis).

The 'White Wolf Skin' represents the snow of the Northlands, and is 'thrown off', i.e. when the ice melts due to the 'Fire of the Black Sun' (Surt's Fire?). The 'poisoned apple' represents the alienation of the Germanic Folk-Soul through the imposition of the alien Judaeo-Christian Religion. The Germanic Folk-Soul is not dead but lies in a stupor (much like the English Folk today).

Venus is a double-star, symbolic of both Freya and Ingwe-Frey; it is the Morning Star and Evening Star. It is said that Ing follows his 'waen' (Sun-Waen) across the waves, just as Venus follows the Sun from East to West, and West to East in the 'Underworld'. Ing is also associated with Bootes; the symbolism of Bootes is that of the 'Son of Man'.

'The island of Britain situated almost on the utmost border of the Earth...and poised in the divine balance which supports the whole world.'

Gildas the Monk.

'Poised in the divine balance that supports the whole world'. The balance of Light and Darkness within Albion, the Seventh Sword of Wayland. The balance of Light and Darkness wielded by The Hooded Man. These islands must represent the Land of the Dead in the Far West, as shown by Miguel Serrano in The Golden Thread (The Golden Band). This is the Land of Amenti (*) of the Egyptians, associated with Amon - The Hidden God. Thus England is also the Land of the Evening Star - which is the Morning Star. With the 'Dying Sun' and the 'Dying Race of the Sun' has to come the appearance of the Last Avatar, here in the Lands of the West.

(*) 'Amenti' means 'western', the place where the Sun sets. The East is the 'Land of the Rising Sun, whilst the West is the 'Land of the Setting Sun'.

Wid-Ar the Avenger will appear from the 'White Lands' (Landvidi could mean 'Wide Land' or 'White Land'). Wid-Ar is 'Widu-Kind' who is the Woodland Spirit and it is interesting to note that Hamasson pointed out to me that the horse of Widukind is shown as a black horse but prior to Christianity it was a white horse. There are numerous 'White Horses' scattered across England, and the White Horse is a Saxon Symbol. That the Last Avatar appears riding a White Horse indicates that he appears from within the Saxon Nation. (The riding of the White Horse is, of course, symbolic.)

Since England is 'poised in the divine balance which supports the whole earth' it has to be a very important place not only for us, but also for the Dark Powers who seek to control the world. This importance shows clearly in the symbolism used in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The occult nature of this I have dealt with before and the way that 2012 is displayed shows the word ZION, which gives the game away, though most cannot see this, of course. The use of a mound representing Glastonbury Tor is also significant, since the area of Glastonbury has long been used by the Dark Occult Forces. As the 'Glass Mountain' it represents the Sacred Centre, upon which they placed a tree; of course, this is Mount Me-Ru and Yggdrasil, the centre that is everywhere but whose circumference is nowhere (Serrano).

Together with Blake's 'Jerusalem' which tells us that Jerusalem (ZION) was once built here in ancient times, this whole Occult Ceremony was designed to do something of extreme importance to the Dark Powers, or to stop something from happening

There is a small chapel on top of Glastonbury Tor, dedicated (I believe) to 'St. Michael -

'And there was war in heaven (Ragnarok); Michael and his Angels (Angles) fought against the dragon (Red Dragon)....'

'St. Michael' wields a sword, or sometimes a spear, and he is usually seen riding a white horse. The result of this Cosmic War was the defeat (in this dimension) of the Red Dragon who was 'cast out onto the Earth'. We can interpret this as the Dark Forces moving in force into our world, our dimension of time and space. Coming through 'Dark Portals' from the Other-World. The Final Battle will take place here on Middle-Earth, just as the Last Battle (Eddas) takes place on the Unshaped Isle.

In our own Wodenic Lore we have mythologised our history by the use of the term - 'Seven Swords of Wayland'. These represent the Seven Tribes of Ingwe (Ingwaeones = 'Friends of Ing') who came together here in these islands, creating the Nation of Ing (England). These can be found in the Prose Edda where the tribes are led back into Europe by Woden, and the Sons of Woden become kings of the various Germanic Tribes. This is what has happened here in England which is Angle, Saxon, Frisian, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Frankish. These various Germanic-Nordic Tribes fused together to form the English Nation. These seem to be Ingwaeonic Tribes or the 'Sons of Ing' - Ynglingas.

This is very important since the Ynglingas claim descent from Frey and Freya, and are thus linked to the Waene/Vanir - and to the planet Venus. I have hinted before how there seems to be a link between Venus and Sirius (in the south), and with Bootes (in the north). The link in Egyptian Lore is the Goddess Isis, mother of Horus the Avenger! Isis is the Goddess Isa or Nehellenia of the Frisians, a Goddess seen with a dog (Sirius is the 'Dog-Star). Osiris, the father of Horus, is slain and dismembered by his brother Set ('The Dark One'); this represents in our Wodenic Lore the defeat of the 'Father(land)' and the destruction of Germania. The Goddess Isis (Soul of the Germanic Folk) gathers the parts together and mates with Osiris to produce Horus the Avenger (the 'Son' in the 'Land of the Son' - Ingland). This is the Myth of Hamlet and the Resurrection of the Fool

Woden takes half of the slain to Valhalla; Freya takes half to Folkvang - the 'Field of Folk'. Freya and Frigg should both be seen as facets of one, one the 'Maiden' the other the 'Mother'. When the Wolsunga Royal Line (sired by Woden) is threatened because Rerir has no son and heir it is Frigg who sends here handmaid with an 'apple', which causes Rerir to have a son called 'Volsung'. The 'apple' is symbolic of the Five-Pointed Star, which in some traditions represents Venus; the Egyptian glyph for Venus is a five-rayed star and a 'banner' (Wyn-Rune of the Waene). Note the Wyn-Rune as symbol of Venus, also shown in the wooden rune-stave earlier.

Miguel Serrano uses the term Veneris Rune which is an eight-rayed star, and this he links to Venus. This does not conflict with what I am saying, but it is not the subject of this post. The Symbol of Venus is also a 'rose', the 'Dog-Rose' in fact which is the true and original rose. This is a White Rose (though shades of pink occur in the wild); the White Rose is the Symbol of Albion as the 'White Island'. The rose is a very significant symbol since it is unique in that the Dog-Rose needs no other to pollinate and reproduce itself - it produces its 'offspring' (rose-hips) through what we could call a 'Virgin Birth'. The Dog-Rose has five petals just as the apple when cut in half produces a five-rayed star. Again, we are back to the Goddess of Regeneration - Idunn.

(We can see now how the 'Red Rose' is used more often, such as the England Rugby Team and many other examples of its use for England and the English. The defeat of the 'White Rose' by the 'Red Rose' mirrors the defeat of the White Dragon by the Red Dragon [Battle of Bosworth Fields 1485].)

The 'Island of Apples' is named Avalon in Celtic Lore, and is where the 'Once and Future King' (the Hyperborean Arctur) lies awaiting his time. He is taken there by the Goddess of Wyrd - Morgana. She is the Goddess of Death and Regeneration. Avalon has been associated with Glastonbury, but this may be another example of 'Celtic Fantasy'. (Archaeologists found no connection between 'King Arthur' and Glastonbury as the Christian Monks assert; what they did find was early Saxon glass-workings, hence the name 'Glass-Ton-Bury'.) Avalon is like Valhalla, where the chosen await their resurrection to fight again in the Eternal Struggle. The connection between Glastonbury and Woden can be assumed through the legend of Gwyn ap Nydd (White, Son of the Mist), the Celtic Wild Huntsman.

I have shown before how Newgrange in Northern Ireland is connected to what seems to be a 'rebirth'/'resurrection' of the hero who is 'resurrected' in Venus; this planet is also connected to Bryn Celli Ddu in Anglesey (Angle's Island). The latter has the Germanic Ing-Rune carved into a stone - the 'lozenge'. The 'lozange' is also a common symbol at Newgrange. Since we are told by two Roman writers that ancient England was shaped as an 'elongated diamond' (Ing-Rune) we can assume a direct connection to the planet Venus, as well as to Bootes that revolves around the Pole Star, following his 'waen' (Plough/Great Bear) eastwards over the night sky. Note below how Bootes is seen as an 'elongated diamond', but also like the Edel-Rune too.

Associated with New Grange in Northern Ireland is the figure of AEngus/Oengus/Angus who we can relate to Ingwe. He takes the dead warrior Dairmuid to the Bru na Boinn (Newgrange) into the mound with the pregnant Grainne (pregnant with Diarmund's child). There he proclaims - 'I will send the bright light of the soul from the sky into him so that he may talk with me each day.' This is the Light of Venus, and Grainne gives birth to a child, a son, who is sent to be fostered and to 'learn to become the warrior his father had been'. Venus is thus seen to be the source of the 'Resurrection of the Hero'. Venus is the 'Star of Resurrection'. The Light of Venus transfers the souls of the departed Aryan Heroes into the bodies of the newborn. If we equate Venus with Freya, then we can suggest that this is Folkvang where Freya takes her quota of the Fallen Heroes.

The Calc-Rune is the Rune of Kalki; it is the 'Death-Rune' and a rune showing a nuclear warhead. There can be no regeneration, no rebirth, no re-creation without this final destruction. Like the cosmic battles in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata this is part of the Archetypal Myth, part of the Eternal Return, part of the cosmic cycles that occur over and over again. The Calc-Rune represents the colour 'white', of 'chalk', of the 'white stone'. Not only is the Calc-Rune the 'Death-Rune' but it is the roots of the Tree of Life, it is the origins, the ur-spring, which we return to into order to find ourselves, to be able to renew, to 'resurrect'. It is also the Graal-Cup, the chalice, the Horn of Plenty, the source of life, the 'Womb of Life'. It is the figure of Aquarius pouring the Waters of Life upon the Earth.

The Growing Evidence for a Germanic England

In an earlier post, The Fair Angles, I took up once more the idea that a Germanic Tribe akin to the English - the Tegeingl (Welsh name) or Deceangli (Roman name) - occupied the area of Gwynedd and Anglesey, having moved from the area of Leinster in Northern Ireland. This tribe then moved further eastwards into Flintshire. This tribe were said to be part of a confederation together with the Gangani. The latter occupied the Lleyn Peninsular in North-West Wales after moving from Leinster, 'Lleyn' being a corruption of the original name of 'Leinster'.

The Gangani were seafarers, the name said to stem from the proto-Celtic 'kanki' meaning 'branch'. Looking back though the various books of notes I have, making a note of new ideas as I go along, I found the following historical recording which may well help to identify this tribe. According to Paul the Deacon the Lombard Royal Line bore the name of the Gungingi a name not so far from 'Gangani'. The 'proto-Celtic' word 'kanki' need not be ruled out since this would certainly be a 'branch' of a very famous Germanic Tribe.

The names of both have a similar root-form 'ang' and 'ung-ing'; these form part of the sequence of root-forms -

ANG-ENG-ING-ONG-UNG

The name 'Gungingi' seems also to be very close to 'Gungnir' - the Spear of Woden. What is interesting is that the word 'Lombard' means 'Longbeard' and was given to this tribe by Woden. They are the Langobards, and their origin-myth is exactly the same as the English origin-myth. Is it really a massive 'coincidence' that the Tegeingl and the Gangani were once a federation of tribes dwelling in Northern Ireland, with the former moving over to North Wales at a later time, and occupying Anglesey which is 'Angle's Island'?

The Lombards are said to be descended from the Winili from Southern Scandinavia, according to the Lombard historian, Paul the Deacon. They, like the Anglii (according to Tacitus in Germania) formed part of the Suebi or Swaefs, when they dwelt in North-West Germany in the 1st century CE. They lived at the extreme boundary of Gaul, and from there a section left under Ybor and Aio (Divine Twins) and their mother Gambara. They moved to Scoringa which was then ruled by the Vandals & their chieftains, Ambri and Assi (Divine Twins)

From here comes the famous story of how the Lombards got their name; through a trick by his wife Frigga, Godan (Woden) named the Winili the Longbeards and thus had to give them victory over the Vandals. The later Lombard migration into Italy was led by Alboin ('Elf-wine' or 'Elf-Friend'), son of Audoin. There were various other Suebic Tribes with them, including 20,000 Saxons.

According to Anglo-Saxon legend the legendary King Sceafa of Scandza was an ancient Lombardic King. The Old English Poem Widsith lists Sceafa Longbeardum meaning 'Sceaf, ruler of the Longbeards'. The Lombardic language seems to be akin to the Saxon Tongue.

Like the English Tribes the Lombards worshipped the Vanir-Gods, the gods of fertility and the earth. They then took up the worship of the AEsir-Gods, gods of war and battle. (This shift merely means that the times became warlike and their religious needs changed.) Tacitus in his Germania has the Lombards as part of the Suebi who worshipped Nerthus, as well as the Reudigni, Aviones, Anglii, Eudoses, Suarines, and Nuitones. The Lombards were clearly part of the tribal grouping known as the Ingvaeones - the 'Friends of Ingwe'.

We can see clearly from this one legend of the Lombards that the Germanic Tribes were scattered widely over different areas of Europe. There were branches that retained their name, whilst other branches took on a new title as the formed a separate tribal grouping, albeit retaining their origins-myth and their roots in Germania.

The Edel-Rune shows the features of the 'head'; whilst the Ing-Rune shows a 'crowned head'. The 'Gift of Ing' is sacral kingship, the sacred kingship bestowed by the Gods.

The English Tribes were worshippers of Nerthus and the Waene/Vanir; later we find that the kingship descended from Woden, but some tribes still retained the memory of Sceaf, the King of Scandza.

It may well have been the case that a 'branch' of the Winili migrated earlier to Ireland, becoming known as the Gangani, part of which, or as part of a confederation, were the Tegeingl, the 'Fair Angles'. The Tegeingl then moved eastwards over the narrow piece of water into Gwynedd, part of the Gangani moving over to the Lleyn Peninsular on the coats of North-West Wales.

The move from the Vanir to the AEsir seems to have coincided with the growing power of the 'Religion of Evil' (Judaeo-Christianity) which was gradually taking hold of the Germanic Tribes. Thus, the move from an agricultural and peaceful society was giving way to the warlike times that heralded the dawn of a 'new world age'. The many Folk-Wanderings were due to various reasons, such as the need for new lands to settle, and perhaps disasters or failures of crops etc. that forced change. (The Germanic Tribes did not sit down and flick the flies off themselves when disaster happened, they got up and moved, and fought against anything in the way of their movement - this is the fundamental Law of Nature.) No doubt the subsequent tribal conflicts swelled the ranks of the Einheriar in Valhalla.

In regard to the term 'branch' used or the Gangani, we should note the use of this in the term 'Plantagenet', a name that breaks into 'planta' (branch) and 'genet' (generate). The 'Plantagenets' were the 'Angevins', a name very similar to 'Ingwines' or 'Friends of Ing'. Where this originated I do not know, and the roots of this 'branch' either. But this shows how such usage was common, and that various Germanic Tribes had 'branches' in many European lands.

Dr Francis Pryor of the TV Series Time Team is one of the growing number of people who are today questioning the 'Anglo-Saxon Invasion Theory'. On a website www.romanarmy.net/invasion.shtml the subject is taken up by 'The Roman Military Research Society' which concludes that a Germanic language was spoken here in England, and that a Germanic people were present here before the Roman invasion. This again goes some way to proving that what we have said for years is right. England was part of Germania

This is a subject I have pursued with some earnest because it is so important for our Folk to regain their true history, and thus regain their true identity. Whilst we, the English, are seen as 'outsiders' within these 'Celtic' islands we can be seen as having no real part in its ancient history, especially the history of the ancient sites scattered around our lands. I am pleased that Folk-Comrades such as Wotan's Krieger and Runebinder have also worked on the theme since it is now important that more and more people take this up and spread the truth to others.

The above website also came up with the idea that not only England but also the other nations of these islands contain a Germanic presence, and that in reality the racial make-up of these nations has not changed that much over thousands of years - until today, of course.

There is obviously something that the Established Order does not want our people to know, and that is their Germanic Roots. But this is not all, for they take a great interest in the Islands of the Mighty, the Islands of the West, Albion - the White Island - and are doing everything possible to suppress the people here, and everything in their power to destroy the gene-pool of the people here as quickly as possible.

With this growing evidence the study of 'British History' should now become part of our work; the study of the 'Celtic History' of these isles becomes part of our work. Because they are part of our Germanic Heritage. God-names differ from area to area and this difference does not make the people different. I have shown before how the figure of AEngus, when seen as Ingwe, forms an earlier history of the Germanic Folk here in Albion. The Ingwaeones were here long ago and form a continuation. We need to study the Druids, since the seat of their power seems to be within the Tegeingl - The Fair Angles - in Angle's Island. We need to study the ideas that the Druids, in some areas, were subverted and became an alien priesthood. Our task will become easier now with the growing number of established archeologists and historians who are taking this up. The truth always arises in the end.

We are developing what is now an 'alternative' movement, a new movement of the English Folk; the history and records of other nations here within these islands can no longer be brushed aside as being 'nothing to do with the English', since their records are sometimes records of the Germanic Folk here in these islands. The narrow-minded 'pseudo-nationalism' which promoted bigoted hate of anything 'not English' must now be thrown out in favour of an open-minded look at 'Celtic History in Britain' from a Germanic perspective. What has been suggested is that the language here in England has developed as a fourth part of the Germanic Languages, as being a variant of these languages spoken here in these islands from ancient times.

If a dialect of English was spoken here before the Roman invasions then the whole thing makes sense; with the new incursions of Germanic Tribes, the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Frisians, Franks etc. then the people of this land would have reverted to their pre-Roman culture and language and fitted smoothly into line with the new input. There is proof of a considerable Danish and Norse presence through the Danelaw, but this did not erase the earlier Germanic presence, and it only added certain parts of the Norse Tongue to the original English Tongue.

We can now look at mythology in a different light; we can see into the various myths and recreate our mythology as a whole. The god known to the Welsh as 'Gwydion' is Woden; the 'g' is silent so we get 'Wydion'. This is probably the god-name known to the Belgae, for we have it from Julius Caesar that the first 'British Tribes' he encountered spoke a Germanic Tongue. Indeed, Gwydion seems to be linked to the Tuatha de Danaan, the 'Tribe of Danu', since he is the 'Son of Don'. In ancient tongues the vowels were not used, so the root-sound of Gwydion-Don-Danu-Woden-Odin-Idunn etc/ is DN. The son of Gwydion is Lleu, the equivalent to Lugh of the Irish, again Lugh being of the Tautha de Danaan, who Serrano associates with the AEsir-Gods.

The names 'Lleu' and 'Lugh' mean 'light'; Lleu is transformed into an Eagle where he hangs upon a tree. Here the myth of the Hanged God is transferred from the father (Gwydion) to the son (Lleu). The IE Root *leuk means 'light' or 'brightness'. This could indicate that Lleu is akin to Baldaeg, son of Woden; Baldaeg is also seen as a 'Hanged God', wounded by arrows in his case.

This archetype of Woden developed into the figure of Merlin the Magician whose legend is well known here in these islands. Merlin is a 'court magician' of King Arthur, and here we have the split between the King-Magician whereas prior to this the same personage took both roles. The 'Arthur' well known today is a Christian figure who upholds the Christian Religion against the Heathen Folk of these islands; this, of course, is a later version, the former being of the archetype of Arctur, related to Arcturus in Bootes (Ing).

Don, Danu and Idunn are the same Goddess of Regeneration; they bear the same basic name with variations in vowel-sound, just as today there are variations in regional speech. Gwydion is Woden, the God of the Ash-Tree, and he is a magician, scientist, seer. There is little doubt that he was the god known to the Belgae, and although the Fir Bolg of Irish Mythology were relegated to the realms of the 'demons' there may have been a connection between the two names.

We can find the name 'Og' connected to certain villages here in England; again this can be equated to a Germanic source since it can be seen as linked to the following -

Ygg/Igg = Woden

Ugr = Rudra-Shiva

Og = Ogma

In fact it is quite likely that the root 'og' relates to the eye; we still use the term 'ogle'. This is also true of the 'ogre' who again is relegated to the world of demons and 'giant', but who may originally have been the One-Eyed God. An Odinist Rune-Magician suggested that the Ogham may have been a code used for the runes. There is no proof of this I am afraid but the idea makes some sense since Ogham is itself not a script and it seems to be a type of code. We find the same type of thing in the Norse 'Tent-Runes' and 'Tree-Runes'. In this respect we have to consider that there are certain alien elements in some of the names of the Ogham, but we need not consider this here. If there is any truth in the 'Woden-Lithi' carvings in the USA then the Runes and Ogham were used together at one time.

With this growing evidence we can start to rebuild Germania here in the Islands of the Mighty. Our enemies have done everything they can to suppress the truth, but the truth always comes out in the end. We have a long history in these islands which is now coming to light.

The Unknown History of Wodenism in England

Woden's Folk claims that we revived Folkish Wodenism back in 1998, but strictly speaking this is not true. I have received some information from a very old friend from Odinism whom I have not seen for many years but who contacted me through email the other day. I will refer to him as 'Bill'.

Bill has informed me that there was a small Wodenist group set up over 40 years ago, a group calling itself the Anglo-Saxon Church of Woden (ASCOW). This was founded by a man called John Cook and operated in the London area I believe. Their logo was an Elhaz-Rune in a diamond-shape. I am afraid that little is known of this group and it may have folded with the death of its founder.

Basically, Wodenism was thus revived some 40 years ago here in England by John Cook, and this short article is designed to ensure that this becomes known outside the small circle that must remember this man. Admittedly, this was only a small group and not a national movement (and beyond) but in truth it should be recognised for what it did some 40 years ago in starting the revival of Wodenism here in England.

There was also another group which based its work around Wodenism and that was Saxnot organised by Jack and Leigh Taylor. This worked from South London and they had a small-circulation photocopied magazine called Saxnot. This group was merged into the Odinic Rite where Jack and Leigh became members of the Court of Gothar. I knew the late Jack Taylor and his son Leigh and felt that they too should be credited with their work in the revival of Wodenism.

WF can still lay claim to being the first national movement based around Folkish Wodenism, but it is only fair to credit both the Anglo-Saxon Church of Woden and Saxnot for their work in the revival of Wodenism. Saxnot was a group that studied the esoteric arts and in particular the Ancient Runes. Jack Taylor was a brilliant man, an artist and a carver of runes in wood; his son Leigh is a brilliant rune-worker but I have not seen Leigh for many years now.

For the record John Cook was a nationalist too, and the ASCOW was, like Saxnot, a Folkish group in the sense of being race-conscious and fully aware of our struggle here in England. So, we can say in truth that Wodenism was first revived in a Folkish nature, and that WF took up the torch of Folkish Wodenism around 20 years after this, but spread the movement nation-wide and even further afield today. Today Folkish Wodenism is well known in England, Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and in other places. From small beginnings our Ur-Religion is spreading amongst the Folk.

Since Saxnot was merged into the Odinic Rite this group became part of the Odinist history but their name is taken from the Saxon God so they can be seen as part of the Wodenist revival too. Their magazine was excellent and I have read copies of this in the past, though I do not know how long it went on for.

The name 'Anglo-Saxon Church of Woden' is interesting in that it shows how Wodenism and Odinism emerged from the dying Christian Church, using Christian terms such as 'church' and clothing very much based upon Christian ideas. Since then things have changed drastically and Heathenism has moved away from these ideas, trying to move towards a truly heathen world-view. This was also true of the Folkish Movement in Germany which mixed Heathen and Christian ideas. Saxnot was a truly Heathen group, and not knowing about the ASCOW I do not know whether this embraced a wholly heathen view or not. But whatever the case Wodenism was reborn as a 'seed' which is today growing into a Mighty Oak.

Wodenism - A religion recognised by UK Law.

This short post has been done in order to put onto paper the fact that Wodenism has full recognition in UK Law. This came about back in the spring of 2006 with the Royal Mail plc versus Donald Holden case which came before a Manchester Industrial Tribunal (March 9th - 10th 2006). The summing up of the case, where Royal Mail were ordered to pay a substantial compensation to Donald Holden - an Odinist - who was wrongfully sacked from his job of some thirty-three years. This is the text of the summing up -

“The first issue for the Tribunal is whether Odinism satisfies the definition of a religion or belief in regulation 2(1). Mr Davies contends that it does. Mr Peacock [barrister representing the Royal Mail] neither admits nor disputes it.”

“The Tribunal finds that Odinism is a religion or belief within regulation 2(1). The Tribunal has considered the literature about Odinism in the Bundle of Documents (which appears to be principally a hard copy of material from the website of the Odinist Fellowship) and also the evidence given by Mr Harrison, the Director of the Odinist Fellowship. The Tribunal finds Odinism to be a belief system based on the pre-Christian heathen religion of the British Isles. It is polytheistic and honours the Odinic pantheon of deities with particular regard being paid to the deity of Odin or Woden. It has a concept of the secular and the spiritual worlds and the relationship between them. It has a broad code of ethics based on what are called the Nine Noble Virtues. It has rituals and ceremonies including the Cup of Remembrance, Naming, Pledge of Faith, Wedding and Laying to Rest. It does not have any sacred texts as such but it pays special heed to works known as the Prose Edda and the Poetic Edda which it regards as sources of information about the heathen religion. The Tribunal is not required to make any value judgment or assessment of Odinism as a belief system but to decide whether it satisfies the relatively exiguous definition in regulation 2(1) and the Tribunal is satisfied that it does.”

The key words here are 'Odin or Woden' which clearly states that both Odinism and Wodenism (and by extension other heathen-pagan religions) is a 'religion or belief' within regulation 2 (1) - i.e. a religion recognised under British Law.
The Woden Folk-Community is made up of individuals and groups working on their own initiative, bound only by the use of certain rituals and ceremonies which are used to further the development of Wodenism -

Wheel of the Year Rites
Child Naming Rite
Seven-Year Initiation Rite
Fourteen-Year Initiation Rite
Profession Rite
Handfasting Rite

Wodenism also recognises the Nine Noble Virtues as a Code of Ethics; we have expanded this somewhat for our own use. The Prose Edda and the Poetic Edda are important sources of information to us, but there is a growing list of sources that are used to further our Folkish Religion. Although Anglo-Saxon sources are far less than the Scandinavian and Icelandic sources there are many areas of interest that are used by Wodenists.
It is important to make a note of this tribunal ruling since it can be used in various ways to ensure that followers of Wodenism can follow their religious faith without being victimised or stopped from using their religious symbols. This, of course, applies here in the UK since this is UK Law.

Iceni & the Eye of Woden

Both this Wulfinga Blog and the blogs of Wotan's Krieger have posted articles on the presence of Germanic Peoples here in England (and other parts of these islands) long before the accepted view that the Anglo-Saxon invasions were the first Germanic Folk to come here. Wotan's Krieger has also studied the Iceni Tribe and here I am going to add further evidence that this was a Germanic Tribe and not a 'Celtic' Tribe as scholars harp on about endlessly.

An article appeared in the Coins Weekly showing a coin minted by the Iceni Tribe, a coin dated at 50 - 30BCE. The article suggested that this showed 'Odin's Eye'.

The Iceni Coin shows a figure with one eye missing or closed, together with a 'third eye' which is near to the mouth of the figure.

On the other side is a horse, the 'Steed of Woden' which appears together with what seems to be a wheel above it.

Dr Daphne Nash Briggs, author of Coinage in the Celtic World thinks that an 'ancient Germanic ancestry' may have influenced the language, iconography and coin inscription of the Iceni. In simpler terms we may say that the Iceni were a Germanic Tribe.

Next to the Ideni in Eastern England were another 'Celtic' tribe called the Corieltauvi, and this tribe used coinage bearing what has been termed 'Spirit Eyes'.

Even more glaring is the coinage of a tribe called the Suessiones who dwelt in the area now known as France and who are a Belgic Tribe. A coin found and dated around 60 - 30 BCE shows the Eye of Woden on one side and the Fenris Wolf biting off the arm of Tiw (or swallowing Woden) is shown on the other side.

The image on the left shows the Eye of Woden in the mouth of the figure, just as does the Iceni Coin. On the other side is a wolf-figure either swallowing Tiw's hand or swallowing Woden whose 'eyes' are clearly shown. Again, we have the image of a wheel on the coin. Since we also know that the Belgae occupied an area of Southern England, we can now see how the god-figure of Gwydion/Wydion (Woden) came here in very early times. The Cantii who gave their name to Kent were also said to be a Belgic Tribe.

It seems that the Iceni were a Germanic Tribe, and thus Boudicca was a Germanic Heroine Queen and not a 'Celtic' queen as we have been told by historians. Whatever language these people spoke matters little, since as in all times there would have been a Germanic Aristocracy over others, and this is what matters to us here. When the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians etc. came over they came to a land of scattered tribes who were Romanised and who had started to be infected by the Religion of Evil brought here by the Joten. The new invaders had to take back the land and its people and once again become overlords over a Heathen Folk. The later Vikings did the same when the English succumbed to the Religion of Evil.

There is also a continuum of the Divine Twins as Romulus and Remus, depicted here on an Iceni Coin; the Wuffingas (Wulfingas) continued this and within their own ancestral lineage is the figure of Caesar. This continuum seems to indicate that the Wuffinga Tribe were also here before the Great Invasion.

Here we have a very similar head to that of the Suessiones with a figure with what seems an open mouth on one side and a Solar-Horse on the other side.

The above bears the Fylfot-Swastika.

The Solar-Horse and other solar symbols are found on another Iceni Coin; the horse features strongly on these coins. An aethlinga and his horse are buried at Sutton Hoo which again suggests a continuum of Germanic Culture in the area of East Anglia.

The name Ygg/Igg could well be linked to the 'eye' and thus to the 'Eye of Woden'; it is also possible that an ancient god-name Og known in these islands also relates to Ygg/Igg. Maybe the term 'ogre' relates to this, and we still say 'ogle' when eyeing something. The ancient Vedic God Rudra, who became Shiva in later times, had a by-name Ugr which may be the same as Ygg. We need to recall that the Old English cyning is pronounced something like 'cooning', so 'Ygg' may be 'Oogg'.

There is a direct link between the eye and the mouth, both of which feature in the Iceni Coin 'Odin's Eye' (it is still being mentioned  under this name). The Rune of Woden is the Os-Rune which means 'mouth'; we can now connect the rune to the Eye of Woden too. It is significant that the author of the article on the coin suggested that this is a 'Third Eye' through which Woden looks inwards, obviously suggesting a working knowledge of the god Woden.

The Belgic Coin showing either Woden or Tiw is significant in that it shows an early knowledge of Norse Mythology and Germanic Mythology. There is one thing that suggests this may be Woden rather than Tiw and that is that it is the left arm which is being swallowed - Tiw lost his right arm. There is also the further evidence of the pronounced eyes on the figure, again suggesting Woden rather than Tiw. The wolf stands upon the Wheel of Time.

Once again we have the Solar Horse and the Wheel of Time and a symbol of seven dots beneath the horse.

The symbol of the seven dots is not unlike the symbol of six dots found on the above figure of Odin riding Sleipnir. The discrepancy concerning the number 6 and 7 may be linked to the Pleiades known as the Seven Sisters of which only six stars can be seen plainly.

Further evidence to suggest that Woden was in fact the chief god worshipped in these islands in ancient times is the widespread use of the Gold Torc. Rather than being the symbol of 'The Goddess' as is usually suggested, logic tells us that the Torc is a twisted cord worn around the neck, suggesting that it symbolises the Hangman's Noose of the God of the Hanged - Woden. The Golden Torc (Solar Symbol) worn around the neck of the AEthlinga Caste symbolised that they were fettered to Woden, that they were Initiates of Woden. Evidence can be found on the Sutton Hoo Mask to suggest a connection to Woden through the Wuffingas.

The coincidence or synchronicity involved here is rather strange for just yesterday I outlined the new WF Logo containing the Germanic Ing-Rune as the Eye of Woden. Woden was the Raven-God but he was also the Wolf-God and in this aspect he was known in East Anglia, obviously connected to the Wolf-Twins who were also Horse Twins - Hengest & Horsa, Romulus & Remus etc.

These are images from coins of the Corieltauvi Tribe who occupied Lincolnshire, parts of Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. They show 'hidden eyes' or 'Spirit Eyes'. The top row, far right shows a strange emphasis upon one eye over the other suggesting maybe a link to the One-Eyed God, Woden. Woden is the god associated with the eye - can all this be a coincidence, or proof that Woden has been worshipped here in these islands into very ancient times?

Styles of dress and fashions such as the wearing of beards or moustaches differ across Europe, and have always differed. The Germanic Tribes on mainland Europe would have differed in their garb and even slightly in language. There is no evidence to suggest that the Welsh language was spoken across what we now call England, Oppenheimer has shown how a Germanic Language was spoken into ancient times.

Angul and Dan were brothers according to Danish Lore, so is it a coincidence that the Danelaw stretched across most of the area occupied by the Angles? It was the Saxon areas of England that remained English under Alfred, from where the lands were united - but under a Christian yoke! A dual faith existed until well into the eleventh century but the English were on a downhill path under an alien yoke long before the coming of the Normans. It was the Judaeo-Christian faith that brought the English to their knees - literally!

'The Wise Ones' & the Founding of the English Nation

According to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles there was a tribe known as the Gewisse who occupied an area which later became known as 'Wessex', named after the West Saxons. Indeed, what is less well known is that the name 'West Saxons was not used until the reign of Caedwalla (*) when the term 'King of the Saxons' was used rather than the previous 'King of the Gewisse'. Various attempts have been made to make the Gewisse fit a Romano-British form but the obvious still stands out clearly. Now, the Gewisse have been seen as related to another tribe known as the Hwicce.

The Gewisse - the name has been related to the German gewiss meaning 'certain' or 'sure' and their eponymous ancestor (which always tells us something about a tribe) was Giwis. The tribe were obviously a Royal Line of the Saxons, and they occupied an area around Dorchester on the Thames, though no doubt their influence went far further than this area. They captured Searobyrig in 522CE and Beranbyrig in 566CE. The conquests of the House of Gewisse in the seventh and eighth centuries CE led to the establishment of the Kingdom of Wessex, which led eventually to the creation of the English Nation.

The Hwicce - this tribe occupied a tribal kingdom in Anglo-Saxon England, established in 577 with the Battle of Deorham. The kingdom they occupied covered parts of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire and northern Wiltshire. Their first probable kings were Eanhere and Eanfrith.

Right, we have the history of these two tribes or Royal Lines of the Saxons so now we need to discover the secrets hidden within the tribal names and the names of the tribal leaders or founders of the tribes. The German word 'gewiss' is said to mean 'certain' or 'sure'; now Wotan's Krieger is familiar with the German Tongue so he might correct me here if I am wrong. The prefix ge- is used in the Germanic Tongue and as we find in Old English is sometimes dropped leaving just the suffix. Thus Ge-wisse becomes wisse. The obvious stands out here, for the meaning of 'sure' or 'certain' may refer to someone who is 'sure' or 'certain', i.e. a wise man. The meaning of the word Gewisse means 'The Wise Ones'. Their eponymous ancestor Giwis ('Wis') is thus the 'Wise One'.

Now to the Hwicce. Again the name of the tribe seems to allude the historians and scholars, and yet it seems to stare us in the face. 'Hwicce' would seem to be the same as 'Wicce' which is an alternative word meaning 'wise'. Thus the Hwicce are the 'Wise Ones'. The first probable kings are named Eanhere and Eanfrith, names which should straightway link us to the Divine Twins or Founding Twins. We have here, like Hengest and Horsa, Cerdic and Cynric, etc. a set of twin-kings as founders of a particular tribe. In this case - 'The Wise Ones'. The title has also been used of the Visigoths or 'Wise Goths'.

The prefix Ean- also seems to allude scholars since it appears to relate to the Old English eane meaning 'lamb' and eanian meaning 'to give birth' (giving us the modern term 'yean'). These seem to stem from a Proto-Germanic *aunona meaning 'to lamb' or 'to yean'. These meanings have given rise to the word meaning 'fertility' which puts us straight off the mark. What we need to do here is to understand the background to the names, the times when this came about.

Eanhere would mean 'Lamb-Raiders' and Eanfrith would mean 'Lamb-Peace' (**) neither of which make any sense at all. So the names must here be used as metaphors for some hidden truth. These twin-kings had been converted to Christianity, though they do not appear as being converted by Roman Christians. As such the term 'Lamb' would be used for 'Krist' (***). This fits with the meaning of the term, but 'to give birth' brings up the idea of these being Founding Kings.

Putting this together we have two Saxon Royal Lines, the Gewisse and the Hwicce, who are the 'Wise Ones' who pave the way, and indeed are responsible for the eventual founding of the English Nation and the Land of England. We must not forget that it is through the West Saxon Line (and thus the 'Wise Ones') that we get the Legend of Scef-Ing who is the Ancestor of the English Folk. Looked at in this alternative way we can see that the creation of the English Nation unfolded around the Royal Line of the Wise-Ones. The eventual formation was really down to nothing less than the invasion of the Danish Vikings and the Norsemen who were also the 'Friends of Ing' (Ingwaeones). It was the merging of the Viking Raiders and the English Tribes that formed the English Folk-Nation, guided and lead by the 'Wise Ones' who were no doubt Woden Initiates akin to the Armanen of Guido von List. (****)

Another point of interest, and one which seems to confirm what I am saying, is that the Gewisse captured Beranbyrig in 556CE, Beranbyrig being the Old English name for Banbury. I have shown how the word beran (*****) means 'to bear' or 'to give birth' and that it is a word used of the Sacred Centre. Byrig is an alternative to burg or borough. It is at Beranbyrig that the Red and White Dragons fought for supremacy of the Islands of the Mighty, and this is thus the Sacred Centre of these islands. This Sacred Centre is associated with Ingwe and its capture must have been of some importance to the Wise Ones. Of course, the symbol of the West Saxons (and thus the Gewisse) was the Golden Dragon and an early symbol used by the Mercians (Hwicce) was the White Dragon (on a black background).

It would seem that Hengest wielded the Battle-Flame, the Sword of AEtla the Hun, whose Wyrd decreed that he wage a Holy War against the growing power of the 'Religion of Evil' and the Joten who created it. This sword passed to Cynric of the West Saxons who continued the Wyrd through to the eventual creation of the Folk-Nation of the English, guided by the 'Wise Ones' of the Saxon Nation. We should recall, in view of the mention of the Armanen, that the Saxons worshipped a pillar called after their chief god, Irmin or Arman, the god who gave his name to the Irminsul. This is an important point to consider when reading this post.

(*) Caedwalla is a name which means 'Caed'-'foreigner' and thus seen to be of British (Welsh) origins, although this is by no means certain since it could refer to anyone outside that particular tribal group.

(**) 'Frith' here I have translated as 'peace', though the term is a bit more complex than that.

(***) I have used the spelling 'Krist' since there seems no evidence to suggest that these twin-kings were converted by Roman Christians. There did exist a different form of Christianity so I have chosen to use this spelling to make clear the difference.

(****) If we view this as some form of hidden order which von List seems to speak of we may not be too far from the mark. It has been recorded throughout the history of the European Kings that most of them were members of some form of Hidden Order or 'Occult Lodge' (they mean the same). Even today some of the Royal Family here are members of the 'Order of the Garter' or some other 'lodge', though these, of course, are nothing at all like the ancient orders and indeed work through the Counter-Initiation. A more apt example would be Vlad Dracula who was of the 'House of Dracul' - 'House of the Dragon'. These orders were for the aristocracy, though the merchants also had their guilds etc. Even today, in the 'Age of the People' we see the hidden hand of power working through such secret societies as 'Common Purpose', another branch of the Counter-Initiation. We find the concept of 'The Wise Ones' being usurped by the Counter-Initiation through the Illuminati when we analyse the name of its founder - Adam Weisshaupt. The name means 'The First Man of the Wise' or 'The first man of those who know'. Evidence shows clearly that the Counter-Initiation does not create anything, it merely usurps for its own purpose.

(*****) Yet another synchronicity since we have the same meaning 'to give birth' as the meaning of the prefix ean.

In the above photo of a stone placed in the town of Banbury we can see the connection between the area and some sort of Solar-Cult, a clear Solar Symbol being carved upon the stone. This is no doubt connected to some old legend or maybe it is mere 'synchronicity', nevertheless it is obviously connected to the area. Unfortunately the original 'Banbury Cross no longer exists so we do not know what symbolism (if any) it had.
